Yayasan Hasanah Calls For Applicants For Hasanah Grant 2023

Yayasan Hasanah (“Hasanah”), the impact-based foundation of Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) has announced that applications are now open for Hasanah Grant 2023. Successful applicants are eligible for funding of up to RM2.5 million over a period of three years, depending on the nature of the proposed project.

Hasanah’s grant programme is geared to tackle some of the most critical social challenges under Hasanah’s five key focus areas which are in education, community development, environment, arts and public spaces, and knowledge.

The foundation works in partnership with social enterprises and civil society organisations to achieve their impacts.

“We recognise that players in Malaysia’s social impact sector are deeply passionate and courageous; with many already creating deep impacts in the communities, they serve. Through our grant partners, Hasanah has directly impacted the lives of 1.3 million people since 2015 – a testament of the scale of impact that our local changemakers are capable of. Beyond the role of a grant maker, Hasanah stands alongside our partners to move further forward – harnessing and developing our collective capacities, scale and potential,” said Trustee and Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah, Dato’ Shahira Ahmed Bazari.

“Last year through Hasanah Special Grant 2022, Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund, and Arts for All Seasons, over 160 social impact and arts, heritage and culture projects were funded by Yayasan Hasanah and the Ministry of Finance grants to the tune of RM55 million,” Shahira added.

Qualifying Malaysian organisations are invited to apply from now until 28 February 2023, with interested applicants invited to submit their eligibility assessment. Upon confirmation of eligibility, applicants may submit their grant applications starting 15 February.

Interested applicants are also encouraged to attend step-by-step workshops on how to apply.

Hasanah Grant 2023 workshops will be organised from 20 Feb to 1 Mar in several locations around Malaysia, namely: Johor, Kelantan, Perak, Sarawak, and Klang Valley.
