Shopee Launches RM150million “Shopee Lindung Niaga” Initiative to Support Business Resilience of Malaysian MSMEs

Shopee has unveiled Shopee Lindung Niaga, a RM150 million initiative aimed at strengthening Malaysian micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through targeted support in logistics, financing and fulfilment.

The programme is designed to help businesses navigate an evolving operating environment while maintaining consistent value and access for consumers. It reflects Shopee’s broader strategy to balance the needs of sellers and buyers while reinforcing long-term ecosystem resilience.

According to Ian Ho, the initiative focuses on delivering timely, practical support while continuing to invest in systems and tools that enable small businesses to scale. “Shopee Lindung Niaga is designed to provide practical support where and when it matters most, while continuing to invest in the systems and tools that small businesses rely on to operate and grow,” he said.

Under the initiative, Shopee is rolling out measures to sustain transaction activity and demand across the platform. These include no-minimum-spend free shipping vouchers to encourage everyday purchases, alongside targeted support for bulkier and higher-value items such as furniture and home appliances.

By offsetting higher delivery costs and simplifying logistics, the platform aims to make larger purchases more accessible to consumers while enabling sellers in these categories to better capture demand.

Recognising the importance of working capital for MSMEs, Shopee is partnering with Monee to expand financing options.

Key offerings include SLoan for Sellers, which is expected to facilitate over RM5 million in financing and offers a 100% interest subsidy on the first instalment for new users. In addition, Quick Funds provides instant liquidity, with a 50% discount on advance fees and a 20-day free trial to help sellers better manage cash flow cycles.

Shopee is also expanding its Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) service, giving more sellers access to warehousing and logistics support. Eligible sellers can benefit from a six-month complimentary trial, allowing them to streamline operations and scale more efficiently, particularly during peak periods.

The platform noted that sellers using FBS have seen an average 20% increase in store traffic, attributed to improved visibility and enhanced access to platform features.

Beyond immediate financial and operational support, Shopee is continuing to invest in digital capabilities such as AI-powered tools, including a Chat AI Assistant, Product AI Optimiser and AI Model Try-On. These tools are designed to help sellers improve efficiency, optimise listings and manage operations more effectively over time.

Local sellers have already reported tangible benefits. Nur Shafiqah Mokhtar, founder of Dashboxx Solutions, said access to SLoan enabled faster business expansion by addressing cash flow gaps within 24 hours. Meanwhile, Stephen Beh, founder of Moo Baby, noted that free shipping incentives have significantly improved purchase conversions, particularly for lower-value items.

Ho added that long-term resilience depends on more than short-term support. “Resilient businesses are built not only through timely support, but through continued investment in the capabilities, tools and partnerships that help them compete and grow over time,” he said.
