The momentous signing ceremony, held at Kementerian Belia Dan Sukan in Putrajaya, was graced by the distinguished presence of YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth and Sports.

This strategic partnership aims to develop guidelines and manuals, as well as pioneering dedicated testbeds to ensure the highest standards of safety and performance. Additionally, cultivate a cutting-edge ecosystem for drone sports by combining Futurise’s regulatory expertise with MSAF’s leadership in sports aviation. Together, they are poised to propel Malaysia to the forefront of this dynamic and innovative field.

Under the terms of the MOU, Futurise will spearhead the creation of new ecosystems and leverage its extensive expertise to develop comprehensive regulatory frameworks for drone sports. Concurrently MSAF will collaborate closely with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia to craft robust regulatory frameworks, guidelines, and manuals specific to drone sports. This collaboration is poised to not only enhance the regulatory landscape but also to position Malaysia as a global leader in drone sports technology and innovation.

This collaboration encompasses a broad range of initiatives aimed at fostering partner interactions, exploring new collaborations, and developing sustainable business models. Malaysia’s drone industry is on the cusp of remarkable growth projected to reach RM12.13 billion, capturing 4.3% of the global market share, by year-end according to BERNAMA. With an impressive CAGR of 21.44%, the industry could be valued at US$7.27 billion by 2029. This rapid expansion underscores the vast potential of drone technology across multiple sectors, including sports, and reflects Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to advancing high-tech industries.
