Employee platform Setlary has partnered with Health Lane Family Pharmacy to distribute free protective face masks and supplementary wellness kits to 80,000 workers nationwide amid deteriorating air quality and rising concerns over haze exposure.
The corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative was officially launched at Health Lane Ombak KLCC, where Setlary Co-Founder Ang Gee Guan and Health Lane Director Datin Lee Ai Lang participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the symbolic handover of the first relief packs.
The campaign aims to support workers who face prolonged outdoor exposure to air pollution, particularly delivery riders, factory personnel and daily commuters who may have limited opportunities to avoid the haze during their working hours.
While indoor office workers may have access to air-conditioned environments, those working outdoors or travelling extensively remain more exposed to airborne pollutants, including fine particulate matter known as PM2.5.
Through the initiative, eligible employees can redeem complimentary face masks and Workforce Wellness Kits containing preventive care and immune-support essentials, helping to ease the additional expenses associated with protecting themselves during the haze season.
Setlary said the initiative is designed to make protective supplies more accessible without adding to workers’ monthly household expenses.
“With air pollution alerts appearing on our phones, the cost of managing everyday exposure to haze can easily add up. From replacing face masks to purchasing remedies for throat irritation and other respiratory discomforts, working Malaysians can face additional expenses simply to get to work.
“Basic protection should not have to compete with other essential daily expenses. Our partnership with Health Lane allows us to put protective supplies directly into workers’ hands through a convenient, accessible and completely free redemption process,” said Ang.
The initiative leverages Setlary’s digital employee platform and Health Lane’s nationwide retail network to facilitate the distribution of relief supplies.
Employees can generate a digital voucher through the Setlary mobile application and redeem the items over the counter at participating Health Lane Family Pharmacy outlets. The pharmacy chain has more than 260 locations nationwide, providing workers with access to the campaign’s offerings across multiple communities.
Lee said access to appropriate protective equipment and reliable pharmacy services becomes particularly important when air quality deteriorates.
“When air quality worsens, appropriate respiratory protection becomes an important consideration. People should be able to access suitable protective supplies without unnecessary difficulty, particularly during periods of increased demand.
“By connecting our retail network with Setlary’s digital platform, we aim to make protective supplies and pharmacist guidance more accessible to working Malaysians in their communities,” she
