Credit Bureau Malaysia Partners Grab to Launch First Malaysian Partner App for Credit Insights

Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM) has announced a strategic partnership with Grab Malaysia to launch the first Malaysian Partner App on Grab’s platform, giving users direct access to trusted credit information through the Grab app.

The collaboration marks a significant step in digitising access to credit insights, enabling millions of Malaysians to check and better understand their credit standing via a familiar, widely used digital platform.

Through the newly launched CBM Partner App, users can access the CBM MyScore Report — a personalised credit scoring tool designed to help individuals and businesses make more informed financial decisions. The integration eliminates the need for additional app downloads, embedding credit information within Grab’s ecosystem.

The initiative comes amid growing emphasis on financial literacy and inclusion, particularly among gig workers, micro-entrepreneurs and young earners who may have limited visibility into their credit health. It also aligns with the Malaysia National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2026–2030, which prioritises improving financial awareness and responsible decision-making across income segments.

Evan Cheah, Deputy President of Sunway Group and Chairman of CBM, said the partnership reflects CBM’s long-term commitment to empowering Malaysian individuals and MSMEs.

“The collaboration between CBM and Grab will ensure credit insights are easily accessible on an established platform that is used and trusted by millions of Malaysians. This marks an important milestone in CBM’s commitment to empower Malaysian MSMEs and individuals, in line with Sunway’s aspiration of nation building,” he said.

CBM Chief Executive Officer Soo Chin Kang described the move as a meaningful advancement for financial literacy.

“By embedding credit insights within the familiar environment of Grab, financial learning becomes accessible, intuitive and non-intimidating to everyday Malaysians,” he said.

Tan Jiong Jian, Director of Commercial and Deliveries at Grab Malaysia, said the partnership strengthens Grab’s role in supporting Malaysia’s digital financial ecosystem.

“Welcoming Credit Bureau Malaysia as our first Malaysian Partner App reflects our commitment to making financial information more accessible. By enabling seamless access to CBM’s services within the Grab app, without the need for multiple downloads, we are supporting informed financial decisions among our customers as well as driver-, delivery-, and merchant-partners,” he said.

CBM, jointly owned by Sunway Group and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Berhad, was the first credit reporting agency granted access to Bank Negara Malaysia’s Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS). Through its data and digital solutions, CBM provides comprehensive credit information and insights for individuals, MSMEs and financial institutions, supporting improved risk management and responsible credit practices.

As Southeast Asia’s leading superapp operating across eight countries, Grab continues to expand its ecosystem beyond mobility and delivery into digital financial services. The introduction of the CBM Partner App further enhances its integrated platform, offering users greater convenience and access to essential everyday services.
