RHB Strengthens Inclusive MSME Growth Through #JomBiz, Supporting Over 1,000 Microentrepreneurs

RHB Banking Group (“RHB” or “the Group”) continues to strengthen inclusive growth among Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through its RHB #JomBiz programme, which has supported more than 1,000 microentrepreneurs nationwide since 2022. With over RM1.5 million invested to date, the programme underscores RHB’s commitment to expanding economic participation and building long-term financial resilience.

The 2026 RHB #JomBiz Award Ceremony recognised winners from Cohorts 6 and 7, marking the completion of a structured capacity-building and mentoring journey. Selected participants progressed into an extended close to 10-month acceleration and monitoring phase, receiving funding, close mentorship and continuous guidance to help scale and strengthen their businesses.

Under the programme, the top 10 proposals from each cohort secured seed funding ranging from RM5,000 to RM15,000, aimed at accelerating business growth and sustainability.

Dato’ Mohd Rashid Mohamad, Group Managing Director/Group Chief Executive Officer of RHB Banking Group, said,

“RHB #JomBiz equips microentrepreneurs with practical knowledge, financial tools and market-relevant capabilities to support sustainable business growth. Beyond funding, we focus on building confidence, strengthening financial resilience and opening pathways to new opportunities for entrepreneurs who may otherwise face barriers to growth. MSMEs are a vital pillar of Malaysia’s economic fabric, and we remain committed to helping them scale with confidence and resilience.”

Cohorts 6 and 7 feature enterprises advancing into high-potential sectors such as sustainable agriculture, recycling, food manufacturing and specialised vehicle services, reflecting a growing shift towards more resilient and environmentally responsible business models. Women continue to form the majority of participants, accounting for 70% of the programme in 2025, highlighting RHB #JomBiz’s role in supporting household income stability nationwide.

This initiative supports RHB’s broader aspiration to empower 2.5 million individuals and businesses across ASEAN by 2027.
