MDEC Strengthens Malaysia-Indonesia Collaboration In Driving ASEAN’s Digital Economy

Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) announces the success of its recent DEX Connex and FOX Xposure programmes; in partnership with KUMPUL, an Indonesian entrepreneur ecosystem builder.

The inaugural programme aimed to enhance collaborative relationships between high-tech companies in Malaysia and Indonesia. It served as a valuable platform for participants to engage, expand their reach, showcase technology companies from Malaysia, and facilitate business growth opportunities towards driving the digital economy in ASEAN.

A total of 42 high-tech Malaysian companies ventured to Jakarta to participate in this programme, with MDEC expecting to generate RM250 million in digital export opportunities as a result.

Chief Executive Officer of MDEC, Ts. Mahadhir Aziz highlighted the importance of fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing as key drivers for innovation and growth in the digital economy.

Also present at the programme were His Excellency Dato’ Syed Md Hasrin Tengku Hussin, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Republic of Indonesia; Yang Terhormat Bapa Ferry Akbar Pasaribu, Assistant Deputy for Investment Strategy, Ministry of Maritime and Investment Affairs Indonesia; Mohd Najeeb Abdullah, Minister Counsellor of Economy, Embassy of Malaysia; along with government representatives, tech industry players, and regional investors.
