MCash connects to PayNet, enabling DuitNow QR and instant transfers for users nationwide

MRuncit Commerce Sdn Bhd (MCash), one of Malaysia’s longest-standing homegrown e-wallet providers, has announced its direct participation in Payments Network Malaysia (PayNet), enabling users to make payments via DuitNow QR and perform instant transfers through DuitNow Transfer.

The move marks a significant step in MCash’s strategic shift from operating largely as a proprietary digital wallet ecosystem to becoming a more integrated participant within Malaysia’s national payment infrastructure. By connecting directly to PayNet, the company aims to strengthen interoperability, scalability and long-term digital financial accessibility for users across the country.

Through DuitNow QR integration, MCash users can now make payments at millions of merchant touchpoints nationwide using Malaysia’s unified QR payment standard. Instead of being limited to MCash-enabled merchants, users can transact across participating banks, e-wallets and retail outlets that accept DuitNow QR.

The addition of DuitNow Transfer further expands the platform’s functionality by allowing users to send and receive funds instantly using mobile numbers or bank account details, supporting faster peer-to-peer and business transactions.

“DuitNow QR has become a cornerstone of Malaysia’s digital payment landscape. As the digital economy matures, interoperability is no longer optional, but fundamental,” said Tee Kean Kang, Chief Executive Officer of MCash.

“By becoming a direct participant in PayNet, we are strengthening our ability to deliver secure, real-time payment and transfer services nationwide. More importantly, this positions MCash as a fully connected player within Malaysia’s national payments framework, reinforcing trust, convenience and financial inclusion,” he added.

Malaysia’s national QR payment network currently supports more than 2.5 million merchant touchpoints, ranging from neighbourhood businesses and street vendors to large retail chains. The ecosystem has played a key role in accelerating cashless adoption and improving digital transaction connectivity across communities.

MCash said the integration also aligns with the country’s broader digital economy ambitions. As Malaysia advances its digital transformation agenda and prepares for initiatives such as Visit Malaysia 2026, interoperable payment infrastructure will be increasingly important to support seamless transactions for both local users and international visitors.

The company views its participation in PayNet as a foundation for further innovation, reinforcing its long-term goal of building more accessible and inclusive digital financial services within Malaysia’s evolving fintech ecosystem.

MCash users can download or update the MCash mobile application to access DuitNow QR payment and DuitNow Transfer services.
