Kiddocare And HeyDoc Health Partner To Bring Affordable Healthcare Access To Gig Carers

Caregiving platform, Kiddocare has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HeyDoc Health, a leading digital healthcare provider.

The collaboration, formalised during the Selangor International Care Summit 2025, will introduce a subscription-based healthcare plan for Kiddocare’s network of carers and babysitters — a rare benefit for Malaysia’s largely unprotected gig workforce.

Under the agreement, Kiddocare carers will be enrolled into FutureK, HeyDoc Health’s digital healthcare subscription platform, which offers unlimited teleconsultations with licensed doctors, inclusive acute medications, preventive health programmes, nationwide referral access, and preferential rates for family members. The initiative is set to roll out in 2025 for active carers, with family extensions planned for 2026.

“Our carers form the backbone of Malaysia’s care economy, yet many remain without the healthcare protection they deserve,” said Nadira Yusoff, Chief Executive Officer of Kiddocare. “By working with HeyDoc Health, we are not only safeguarding their wellbeing but also empowering more women to join and stay in the workforce with peace of mind.”

Malaysia’s care economy is estimated to be worth RM379 billion, representing almost one-fifth of the services sector (ISIS Malaysia, 2024). Yet, more than 3.2 million Malaysians — 98% of them women — remain outside the workforce due to caregiving responsibilities. Simultaneously, studies show that over half of Malaysian gig workers lack healthcare insurance, leaving them financially vulnerable when illness strikes (ILO/Centre Malaysia, 2023).

HeyDoc Health CEO Dr. Raymond Choy said the partnership reflects both companies’ commitment to bridging that gap.

“FutureK was designed to address the healthcare needs of gig workers, freelancers and everyday Malaysians who often fall through the cracks of traditional healthcare subscription plans,” Dr. Choy explained. “Through this collaboration with Kiddocare, we are proud to extend our services to the carers who play such an important role in our communities, ensuring they have access to quality, affordable and continuous care.”

The partnership aligns closely with the government’s Budget 2026 agenda, which emphasises strengthening Malaysia’s care economy and gig workforce through initiatives such as a RM5 million allocation for care worker training and expanded social protection schemes. It also complements government efforts like i-Saraan Plus, which offers matching EPF contributions and social security coverage for gig workers.

By extending healthcare access and financial protection to independent carers, Kiddocare and HeyDoc Health’s collaboration marks a significant step toward formalising Malaysia’s care sector, improving women’s workforce participation, and building a more inclusive, resilient care ecosystem.
