CIMB Bank Berhad (“CIMB”) has inked a Collaboration Agreement with Pharmaniaga Logistics Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pharmaniaga Berhad, to deliver enhanced supply chain financing and greater payment flexibility to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia’s healthcare sector.
The strategic partnership is set to benefit private clinics, independent pharmacies and medical buyers by offering them practical financial tools to manage working capital more efficiently.
Under the collaboration, buyers in Pharmaniaga’s ecosystem can now utilise the CIMB SME BusinessCard to enjoy up to 50 days of extended credit when purchasing medical supplies. In addition, businesses will receive an unlimited 0.5% cash rebate on all Pharmaniaga purchases, helping them ease operational cash flow and optimise payment cycles.
Lawrence Loh, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Group Commercial and Transaction Banking, CIMB Group, said, “We are pleased to partner with Pharmaniaga to deliver practical, value-added financing support for healthcare SMEs. These businesses play a crucial role in Malaysia’s healthcare ecosystem, and providing them with the right financial tools is key to strengthening their resilience and capacity to deliver quality care. By offering extended credit terms and early settlement incentives, we help clinics, pharmacies and medical buyers better manage cash flow, reduce operational strain, while enhancing the quality of care they provide.”
CIMB emphasised that the move reflects its ongoing efforts to embed needs-based financial innovation within supply chains, particularly in high-impact sectors like healthcare. The bank aims to further expand its healthcare SME portfolio through similar ecosystem collaborations and digital financing initiatives.
Zulkifli Jafar, Managing Director of Pharmaniaga Berhad, added, “This collaboration reflects Pharmaniaga’s strong commitment to supporting our valued business partners with practical financial solutions to manage their supply chains more effectively. We encourage more clinics, pharmacies and healthcare SMEs to leverage this facility to ease daily operational and financial challenges, empowering them to grow sustainably while serving their clients with confidence.”
Launched in 2023 in partnership with Mastercard, the CIMB SME BusinessCard is designed to meet the diverse needs of SMEs across industries. It offers extended credit periods, cash rebates, flexible payment options, exclusive discounts and instalment plans, enabling businesses to better manage payables while improving operational efficiency.
The collaboration marks another milestone in CIMB’s push to strengthen Malaysia’s healthcare ecosystem by equipping SMEs with financial tools to thrive in a competitive and rapidly evolving market.
